The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared monkeypox as a global health emergency.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has said that the global spread of monkeypox is a cause of international concern.

He said that the outbreak of monkeypox shows a public health emergency.

Tedros Adhanom said that the spread of monkeypox can be stopped with the tools we have.

He further said that the risk of monkeypox is high in Europe while it is moderate in other places.
