Inflation in the country is at the highest level in 47 years: Miftah Ismail

Federal Minister of Finance Miftah Ismail says that inflation is running at the highest level in the country’s history for 47 years.

Federal Minister of Finance Miftah Ismail said that the growth rate of the economy is expected to be more than 3.5 percent in the current fiscal year.

They say that with inflation nearing its peak, which will average 15 percent this fiscal year, import payments into the country should be equal to dollar inflows.

Miftah Ismail said that if I have limited dollars, I will buy wheat and food items from it.

He added that in this situation we may delay the purchase of luxury items, restrictions on imports of luxury items may remain in place for more than 3 months.

Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail also said that I want Pakistan to live within its resources, nothing can be done in a year but we can start it.
